Registration takes your university email address and nothing else. The confirmation message arrives within a few minutes; if it does not, check that your mailbox is not full before writing to us.
Once the address is confirmed, set your interface language and your calendar. Both can be changed later from your profile, and neither affects what you are entitled to read.
